Editorial Style Guides
Editorial styles are rules or guidelines that publishers use to ensure a clear and consistent presentation of written material.
The Chicago Manual of Style is published by the University of Chicago Press and is widely used in publishing. Chicago is the most comprehensive of all the style guides. Although primarily used by authors of books, it is an indispensable reference for all who work with words.
The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA) is commonly used for psychology, education, and other social and behavioral sciences research papers and manuscripts.
Associated Press Stylebook and Briefing on Media Law commonly referred to as the Journalist’s “Bible” or the AP Stylebook, is primarily used by newspapers and magazines.
